Mishkova para evitar que cerca de quatrocentos tanques se juntem ao
exército de Paulus. Os soldados da artilharia soviética protegem suas posições com as suas vidas resultando em um banho de sangue onde poucos sobrevivem.
Agora exércitos soviéticos cercam as tropas do general Paulus em Stalingrado, em contrapartida Hitler inicia uma ofensiva para quebrar o cerco soviético e resgatar as tropas de Paulus. Os soviéticos agora terão que defender até o último homem para impedir que as divisões panzers do General Von Manstein entrem na cidade. Baseado no livro de Yuri Bondarev.
